Pros and cons of miTypewriter app for iPhone and iPad

miTypewriter app good for

It functions perfectly, and is a lot of fun, but emailed documents only keep their formatting if sent as images; emails sent as text are unformatted so you might as well just use the email app. Also, there is no apostrophe at all.
I like the idea! And keyboard looks really nice! I have some requests. 1) More heavy machinery sound when typing. Current sound is little bit too light. 2) More realistic movement when return lever pressed. Ive seen a real machine do this movement but this apps move is too fast. Although I liked very much!
There should be a lite version to this app it is very good still.
This app is so cool! Its exactly like a real type writer!! I just wish that you could save what you wrote as a picture wrather than emailing it to yourself. have recemened this app to everyone i know who has an iphone/ipod touch!!! Worth a dollar, expecially if you have a creatative mind. Please make a version for ipad!?
I wish there was a way that the keys would depress instead of magnafy.
It feels mosly like an old typewriter. The keys, animations, and sounds feel about right. Its too bad apple doesnt support user customization of the keyboard across all apps. It currently (v1.3) only supports emailing the text you have entered. It might be more useful if the author included an action (maybe a single tap on the typed text) that would transfer all text to the clipboard. Currently you can go into the email stage and copy all text from there. Im ok with the keys animating up. There wouldnt be much point in them animating down. But maybe you could add an option to turn it off. On the iphone the popup keys are helpful to avoid mistakes. A few things I would like to see change are: 1. As mentioned earlier, a way to copy text. If you want to go above and beyond, include sound/animation like pulling the sheet out. Maybe it could store the last few memos somewhere - I would like to be able to come back to this text if I screw up the paste to another app. 2. do carriage return with a swipe action. it doesnt recognize a swipe on the icon. maybe it could recognize both a a tap and a swipe. 3. a help page. it took me a while to find the carriage return. and then a while to figure out how to actuate it. 4. maybe a swipe up/down to scroll the text. there are only five lines visible at a time. 5. pressing shift should undo shift lock - that is the way i remember it working. at the moment shift seems locked out when lock is on. 6. multi touch use of the shift key might make it feel better -- i.e. hold shift with one finger and type a key with another, instead of shift latching on until next key is pressed. I can see how this might annoy some people familiar with iphone behavior though. It is a nice little app. Probably worth a buck or two if you think you would use a retro interface for more than a few mintues.

Some bad moments

Fonts really too small!!! You can barely see what you are writing!!!! In addiction, when you send it as email text it will not show these nice fonts!!!! It seems useless!!! Fix it!
This app is a waste of money. It need the option to be able to send SMS. Very hard to type accurately. Dont waste your Monet
What a silly waste of money this is. It is NOT easier to use than an iPhone key pad. The old fashioned typewriter format might be "charming" but the novelty lasts about 2 seconds before it becomes just flipping cumbersome. And FYI, there are only 2 fonts from which to choose so its not like the font options provide an added value. Save your 99 cents.
Very much enjoy the fantastic looking and very realistic sounding keys of the vintage typewriter. But it will not allow cut and copy for texting nor is any recipient able to see the letter that is sent as attachment via email. Perhaps this is because the app does not work well with the new iOS5?? Were there to be an update with some issues addressed it would make the functionality of the app very useful and certainly enjoyable. For now it will be put in a folder to wait for such an update. Please let us know if indeed you will release one. Thank you.
...but the font is sooo small! I can barely see. For me its 99 cents down the drain. They really need to make more of these apps free, at least to give you a chance to TRY it before buying. :-(
Nice concept. improvements might be: iPad version - it looks fuzzy Rotate - wont orient to use with smart cover Strikethrough - allow backspace and strikethrough like a real manual. Letters that disappear when you backspace is cheating. Fonts - or as they used to call them, typefaces...how about a variety ranging from this dirty old crappy machine to a nice clean crisp Hermes?
